Does IMAP Backup and Archiver work for POP3 email accounts?

IMAP Backup and IMAP Archiver are able to backup files on the server at the times both systems retrieve emails from your email account(s). Both systems work throughout the day but are unable to backup many of your emails if you use POP3 and remove the emails from the server.

In order to backup emails for your account while using POP3, we recommend that you enable the “Leave on server” option in your email program for a period of no less than 48 hours.

View accounts currently being backed up by IMAP Backup.

To view the email accounts currently being backed up by IMAP Backup, click the “Backup Accounts” link on the IMAP Backup Menu. The “Last Backup” date should be 24 hours or less and the “Active” column should display “Yes”.

What are IMAP Backup Snapshots?

An IMAP Backup snapshot is the total content of your email account at the time your account was backed up. It contains all emails, folders and attachments present in your account at that time.

After performing a restore of an account snapshot, the entire content of the snapshot is expanded to a folder within your account where the emails and folders may be manipulated.
